This past week we met Trevor Brown, our mountain guide/location savant, in Asheville, N.C. to scout the surrounding haze of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We contracted poison ivy at Helen's Bridge, followed a gravel road upriver for two hours until coming upon the abandoned town of Mortimer, and scouted a thousand-foot zipline shot among other things. Here are some photos below - video to come soon.
HELEN'S BRIDGE: A woman named Helen hung herself from this bridge, distraught from the death of her daughter in a fire.
Eerily, this was the only damaged photo in the entire role. Taken on top of Helen's Bridge, Trevor is standing at the edge, taking a photo of the road below.
After a few hours, this road became Dia's friend.
